The 2025 Romanian National Closed Championships concluded at the Rapid Hall in Bucharest.
In the women’s singles, Bernadette SZŐCS once again confirmed her dominance by capturing her sixth consecutive national title, maintaining an unbeaten streak that began in 2019.
“I was fighting from the beginning of the championship because I wanted to give my best, to show my best table tennis here,” said SZŐCS. “I always want to win at home. I have six consecutive titles—I hope to win even more in the coming years.”

In the men’s singles, Iulian CHIRIȚĂ (CS Rapid București) celebrated his first senior national title after years of near-misses. The rising star delivered a solid performance throughout the competition to top a strong field that included experienced players such as Darius MOVILEANU and Cristian PLETEA.
“I’m so happy I won this title! In the past few years, I was very close to a medal, but I couldn’t quite get it. So, for me, this was a perfect championship. I’m very happy with the way I played,” said CHIRITĂ after his triumph.
In men’s doubles, the pair of Eduard IONESCU and Darius MOVILEANU (CSA Steaua București) secured the national title after a competitive draw, while in women’s doubles, Elizabeta SAMARA and Andreea DRAGOMAN (CSA Steaua București) emerged victorious.
Mixed doubles saw the powerful combination of Eduard IONESCU and Bernadette SZŐCS take the crown, adding another gold to both of their tallies.
