Not only in Austria but in the whole (table tennis) world he is well know name – CHEN Weixing born in China and Austrian citizen since 2000. In China he was already one of the top players but still – as number 15 in the Middle Kingdom – it was not enough to play international tournaments for China.

His career rocketed when he settled down in Austria and played for the Austrian national team. Some of his greatest career highlights were the European Champion title in the doubles together with his partner Evgueni SHETININ (Courmayeur France) the victory of the European Cup with the former German Bundesliga club TTG Hoengen in 2000 and the triumph in the European Champions League with the Austrian club SVS Niederösterreich 2007/2008.

In the ITTF world ranking his highest position was number 9 which he has reached in March 2006. For some months he could defend his top 10 position in the world rankings.

The Werner SCHLAGER Academy (WSA) is very proud to announce that CHEN Weixing will join the WSA trainer team in the daily training process from now on. Because of his high experience as an internationally successful player and chopping specialist he is great enrichment for the trainer stuff. Independent from his work at the Werner SCHLAGER Academy CHEN Weixing will still continue his career as player.

“We are very happy that CHEN Weixing reinforces our trainer team as a specialist for the attractive modern chopper playing style. Especially his experience and his reputation in Austria and worldwide are valuable for the WSA work on the international top level” commented the pleased WSA CEO Martin
