Andrej GACINA won his 5th title in the national championships of Croatia. He beat in the final Tomislav KOLAREK 4:1 (11:9 11:8 8:11 11:8 11:2). Grenzau`s player was faced with a big challenge in the semi-final saving two set balls in the fifth set against Tomislav PUCAR – 4:2 (7:11 11:2 9:11 11:8 13:11 11:5)

Last year`s runner-up in the women`s singles event Ivana TUBIKANEC today won the title beating in the semis defending champion Petra PETEK. That encounter was crucial for the championships taking seven games 4:3 (11:8 11:6 11:9 2:11 8:11 7:11 11:7). But it must be mentioned that TUBIKANEC earlier managed to eliminate one of favorites Lea RAKOVAC in the quarter-final although she was two sets down (1-3). In the final clash she beat Mateja JEGER in straight games.
