07/03/2010 – Gavin RUMGAY won his 6th title at the Scottish Championships on Sat 6th Sept at Holyrood Sports Centre in Glasgow. Craig HOWIESON from Edinburgh gave him a good fight in the final but Gavin was always on the ascendency with his experience in the Belgium League telling in a 4 sets to 1 victory. The 4 semi finalists in the singles featured in the final of the men’x doubles with Craig and Stewart CRAWFORD (Falkirk) defeating Gavin and Naill CAMERON by 3/0.

The ladies final was a very competitive match with 4 out of the 6 games going to deuce. Rebecca RUSSELL (Grangemouth) claimed her 4th title with a 4/2 win over the number one seed Gillian EDWARDS (Perth). In the ladies doubles Gillian and her partner Elaine FORBES took an early 2 sets to 0 lead over Natasha MILLIKEN and Corinna WHITAKER but Natasha and Corinna fought back well to take the next 2 sets and the final set by 11/6 to claim the title.
