Fakel-Gazprom Orenburg safely moved to quarters followed by TTC Neu-Ulm

Five times TT European Champions Legue winners Russia’s Fakel-Gazprom Orenburg progressed to the quarterfinal of the event. In the Group D played in Poland in Grodzisk Mazowiecki they remained unbeaten in three rounds. With one defeat TTC Neu-Ulm will join Russia’s club in the quarters.

SF SKK El Nino Praha failed to put the pressure on Fakel-Gazprom Orenburg in the last round. Alexander SHIBAEV was forced to go full distance against Jiri VRABLIK but SHIBAEV was much stronger at the end. Hugo CALDERANO and Marcos FREITAS recorded straight games wins against Jakub ZELINKA and Frantisek ONDERKA.

In the direct clash for the remaining place that leads to the quarterfinal hosts of the tournament KS Dartom Bogoria Grodzisk Mazowiecki lost to TTC Neu-Ulm. Young stars Ioannis SGOUROPOULOS and Lev KATSMAN the players who will fight for the title at the GAZPROM European Under 21 Championships next week led German club into the victory. Both players overcame Panagiotis GIONIS whilst KATSMAN accounted for CHUANG Chih-Yuan as well.
