Fakel Gazprom rules in Group A

Table Tennis Champions League Men Round 2: Mühlhausen – Orenburg 0:3

 

Five-time TTCLM winner and reigning champion justified its status playing Round 2 game in Germany: Post SV Mühlhausen 1951 e.V. – Fakel Gazprom Orenburg 0:3. It was second win in a row for Russian side while German club suffered its first defeat.

 

Two individual silver medalists at the European Championships met in the opener as 2015 runner-up Portugal’s Marcos FREITAS overcame actual one Ovidiu IONESCU in four games.

 

Current World no.12 Dimitrij OVTCHAROV prevailed against his compatriot Steffen MENGEL in straight games to rise Orenburg’s lead while CHUANG Chih-Yuan defeated Lubomir JANCARIK in four games. It was very first game of Chinese Taipei’s player in the jersey of TTCLM champion.
