Artur ABUSEV clinched gold in Spain

2017 ITTF World Junior Circuit Spanish Junior & Cadet Open in Platja d`Aro

 

In Junior Boys` Singles top seed Artur ABUSEV from Russia beat Francisco SANCHI from Argentina in straight games. ABUSEV convincingly overcame Japanese Kakeru SONE in the semi-final game while SANCHI eliminated ABUSEV`s compatriot and second seed Denis IVONIN after full seven games 4:3 (11:9 15:13 11:9 6:11 8:11 8:11 11:8).

 

All four semi-finalists of Junior Girls` Singles came from Japan. Maki SHIOMI and Yumeno SOMA defeated Yuka MINAGAWA and Satsuki ODO respectively in the semis clashes as both encounters took five sets. SHIOMI dominated in the gold medal match.

 

Maxim GREBNEV has forced top seeded FENG Yi-Hsin from Chinese Taipei to play his best table tennis in the final game of Cadet Boys`Singles event. Russian led 1:0 and 2:1 in sets but lost 3:2 (7:11 11:3 6:11 11:4 11:5).

 

Arina SLAUTINA from Russia reached semi-final stage of Cadet Girls` Singles event but lost to Honami NAKAMORI from Japan. NAKAMORI was beaten by hear compatriot Yumeno SOMA in the final match.

 

Regarding doubles events Ilya ISAKOV and Denis IVONIN from Russia prevailed against Sweden`s Truls MOREGARD and Lithuania`s Medadras STANKEVICIUS playing semi-final of Junior Boys. Japan`s pair Kakeru SONE and Shunsuke TOGAMI reached gold.

 

Top seeded Belarus pair Nadezhda BOGDANOVA/Daria TRIGOLOS lost to CHIEN/WEN from Chinese Taipei in the Junior Girls` Doubles event.
