HEISTER: There is a realistic chance to reach the semi-finals

Coach of Borussia Dusseldorf comments first quarter-final leg of 2016/17 TTCLM

Record holder of Table Tennis Champions League Borussia Dusseldorf (10 times winner) lost first quarter-final leg to TTF LIEBHERR Ochsenhausen 3:2 but they are not concerned at all. Coach Danny HEISTER has commented:

“Last Friday we had some problems in our team with our health. I hope that the players will stay healthy at the Europe Top 16 and U21 European Championships. There is a realistic chance to win the quarter final and reach the semi-finals. The matches were close. If Anton loses the first match we could lose the game 3:0. But on the other side we can be in front with 2:1. After the next weekend we will prepare us for the important match. There will also a lot of pressure by Ochsenhausen”.

Borussia opened very well all-German quarter-finals as Anton KALLBERG beat Hugo CALDERANO in five games but in the next two encounters Timo BOLL and Stefan FEGERL were beaten by Simon GAUZY and Jakub DYJAS respectively. BOLL leveled the score (2:2) against CALDERANO whilst GAUZY secured victory to the host side winning decisive clash against KALBERG.

Returning match will be held on February 10th in Dusseldorf. These two clubs met in the 2008/09 TTCLM final when Borussia lifted the trophy in spite of loosing first away game 3:2.
