Pontoise forgets beautiful victory against defending TTCLM champion

„This victory is a small advantage before the return match” stated Pontoise`s coach Christian ADAM after 3:1 semi-final home win against Orenburg

Four memorable games were held between Orenburg and Pontoise in previous two TTCLM seasons one more was played four days ago but who can claim that the upcoming clash on April 1st in Russia will not be the most exciting one…

„It’s a beautiful victory over the defending champion! The whole team played very well and each player contributed to this result” stated Pontoise`s coach Christian ADAM after the most recent duel against Russian club.

The 2014 TTCLM winner beat 2015 champion 3:1 (10:7) in the first semi-final leg held last Friday in France as each of host players contributed with one point: FREITAS – OVTCHAROV 3:1 FLORE – SMIRNOV 3:2 KARLSSON – OVTCHAROV 3:1. Unique Orenburg`s point came from SAMSONOV in the opening game against KARLSSON (3:1)

„We know that this victory is a small advantage before the return match and that nothing is done. It will be essential to play our best table tennis in order to preserve our advantage” concluded Christian ADAM.

French team upset Fakel Gazproma in the 2013/14 TTCLM final taking the title because of better set-ratio (3:1 1:3 18:16). Last year in the group stage each side surprisingly won 3:0 away. After all Orenburg clinched its third TTCL crown last spring.
