Borussia Düsseldorf vs. TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen in the all-German quarter-final of TTCLM

The draw for all four European cups is held in Luxemburg

 

On Thursday December 21st the draw for the European cup quarter-finals is held in Luxembourg gathering altogether 32 clubs in four competitions: Table Tennis Champions League Men European Champions League Women ETTU Cup Men and ETTU Cup Women. ETTU Deputy Secretary General Pierre KASS guided the draw with an assistance of former individual European champion LI Jiao (Postas Sport Egyesulet) and Igor HELLER ETTU Ranking Committee Chair.

 

TTCLM quarter-final offers among other the remake of the 2009 final and all-German clash: Borussia Düsseldorf vs. TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen. Other three pairs are: Eslövs AI BTK Bordtennis (SWE) – TTC Fakel Gazprom Orenburg (RUS) Chartres ASTT (FRA) – 1. FC Saarbrücken TT (GER) G.V. Hennebont T.T. (FRA) – AS Pontoise Cergy TT (FRA). Group winners will play first matches away and they are three times TTCLM winner Orenburg reigning champion Pontoise the 1986 winner Saarbrucken and record holder with 10 titles Borussia. Beside Ochsenhausen two more clubs were TTCLM runner-ups Chartres (2013) and Eslovs (2016). First leg will be held on January 26-27th returning games on February 8-10th.

 

Concerning ECLW defending champion and triple winner TTC Berlin Eastside (GER) will meet ALCL TT Grand Quevilly (FRA) and first leg will be held in France. Double ECLW champion Linz AG Froschberg (AUT) will face 2015 ETTU Cup Women runner-up Metz TT (FRA) TT Saint Quentin (FRA) plays against Szekszard AC (HUN) while no. 3 seed UCAM Cartagena (ESP) will challenge actual ECLW runner-up KTS Siarka ZOT Tarnobrzeg (POL). Group winners and visitors of first games are Berlin Linz Szekszard and Tarnobrzeg. First leg will be held on January 27-29th returning games on February 10-12th.

 

The outcome of the ETTU Cup Men quarter-final is the next: Bogoria Grodzisk Mazowiecki (POL) – Stella Sport La Romagne (FRA) Logis Auderghem (BEL) – UMMC (RUS) SPG Walter Wels (AUT) – Besiktas Jimnastik Kulubu (TUR)/STK Libertas Marinkolor (CRO) Halmstad BTK (SWE) – Vaillante Spots Angers (FRA). Russian UMMC the 2012 TTCLM finalist is a main candidate for the title.

 

ETTU Cup Women quarter-final pairs are: SKST Stavoimpex Hodonin (CZE) – CP Lyssosis Lille Metropole (FRA) Budaörsi 2i Sport Club (HUN) – Bursa Buyuksehir Belediyespor (TUR) TuS Bad Driburg (GER) – Tigem SC Ankara (TUR) TTC Kazan (RUS) – Postas Sport Egyesulet (HUN). In both ETTU cups first matches will be held on January 26-29th whilst second leg is scheduled for February 10-12th. Clubs from Champions League have a home right for the returning matches.
