CSM Constanta defeated GRAND-QUEVILLY ALCL 3-1 in the away match in France after prevailing 3-2 at home. “We are very happy and proud. Reaching the semifinal in our first year of the ETTU Cup season is a significant achievement. I am thrilled to have won two matches for my team; last time my sister contributed with two victories as well. Additionally Bianca did her best showing her high level and securing one match win. Given the high stakes we felt the pressure but we overcame it together. Supporting each other we remained focused from the beginning until the end. The ETTU Executive Board has chosen Sarajevo to host the European Singles Qualifications for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Following a successful presentation last week during the European Under 21 Championships in Skopje the ETTU Executive Board has granted the EOSQ event to the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. “We are very pleased to be back to Sarajevo after the very good experience on the 2023 European Under 21 Championships a very well organized and sustainable event that Bosnia-Herzegovina Association was able to deliver. With that in mind ETTU Executive Board also took in consideration the dates proposed on the bid plus the fact that players from all European countries would be able to travel without any problem to the country following the Olympic spirit. ETTU Executive Board appreciates the effort from all member association that presented bids for this unique event and wishes to thank them for the huge effort done to comply with our conditions ” said ETTU Acting President Pedro MOURA. In the opening leg of the Champions League Women quarterfinal the reigning champions who were forced to play without HAN Ying KTS ENEA SIARKO TARNOBRZEG suffered an away defeat against Italy’s QUATTRO MORI CAGLIARI. Xiaoxin YANG and Elizabeta SAMARA scored for the Polish champions from Tarnobrzeg but on the other side Elizabet ABRAAMIAN recorded two wins and Tania PLAIAN showed good nerves to win over Fu YU in the decisive match. “It was a roller-coaster match. We played unbelievably well in every game and we executed the tactics flawlessly. We were aware that the Polish team is very strong and we knew it would be a tough challenge but we fought for every point until the end with the right tactics. After the success in Skopje players from CSM Constanta succeeded in the Europe Cup
In the opening leg of the Europe Cup quarterfinal Romania’s CSM Constanta overcame the French team GRAND-QUEVILLY ALCL. Elena ZAHARIA who won silver in singles and gold partnering with Bianca MEI ROSU in doubles just two days ago at the European Under 21 Championships in Skopje gave her team a dream start against Isa COK. Alina MUSAT ZAHARIA added two more points by defeating Samson LI and COK. On the other side LI prevailed against Elena and Anais SAPIN beat MEI ROSU. “It was an intense match with two duels that went full distance and we expected a difficult challenge. The team from France had experience in the Champions League and we knew they were strong. The atmosphere was amazing and our supporters helped us a lot.
