Russian table tennis champion Fakel Gazproma Orenburg two-time MECL winner and actual runner-up is one of clubs from several sports supported by Gazprom the largest extractor of natural gas in the world. That’s the reason why Vladimir SAMSONOV Dimitrij OVTCHAROV and Alexey SMIRNOV have special motivation for opening round of 2014/15 Men`s European Champions League…

“We’ll try to make a present for the professional Gasmen’s Day – to win!” emphasized Valery SALABAEV head coach of Fakel Gazproma Orenburg announcing the Saturday`s Group A encounter against Polish Olimpia Unia Grudziadz (September 6th 13h20 CET).

The Gasmen`s Day in Russia comes always on first Sunday in September and this time it is September 7th. Orenburg’s coach is happy that all his players expects opening MECL day in very good shape but shows big respect to three times Polish champion (1997 2000 2004): “We haven’t come across Polish club Olimpia Unia in the tournament yet but taking into account that there are experienced players in our rival’s team the match is expected to be very interesting and tense. Our rival is a strong European club ETTU Cup semi-finalist and three-times champion of Poland having experience of playing international matches. We are preparing for a serious match: all our players are in good health. Our team is in a good shape enough knowing that SAMSONOV became the winner and Smirnov semi-finalist of Pro-tours recently.”
