Lionel WEBER and Rachel MORET continue their supremacy in Switzerland

The 2017 Swiss Championships

 

Lionel WEBER and Rachel MORET successfully defended their titles at the individual national championships of Switzerland held last weekend in the city Biel/Bienne. MORET added two more medals on her account winning gold in Women Doubles and silver in Mixed Doubles.

 

The 20-year-old Lionel WEBER actual No. 311. at ITTF World ranking list was extended to full distance in both his semi-final and final matches. He managed to recover from 1-3 in the gold medal clash against Nicola MOHLER. WEBER played his first matches since he suffered an injury in last November.

 

World No. 105 Rachel MORET won her fifth national crown. In the final match she was two games down against the 2013 winner Rahel ASCHWANDEN (World No. 211) but managed to reverse the score to 4-2.

 

Men Singles semi-finals: Lionel WEBER – Dimitri BRUNNER 4-3 (11-7 8-11 11-3 6-11 11-2 20-22 11-6) Nicola MOHLER – Yoan REBETEZ 4-3 (11-3 11-8 11-8 9-11 7-11 3-11 11-8). Men Singles final: Lionel WEBER – Nicola MOHLER 4-3 (9-11 11-4 7-11 7-11 11-9 11-5 11-9).

 

Men Doubles semi-finals: REBETEZ / VENDÉ – BRUNNER / POSCH 3-2 (8-11 11-9 11-4 5-11 12-10) HOTZ / SCHMID – CHAMPOD / MEMMI 3-0 (11-8 11-6 11-7). Men Doubles final: HOTZ / SCHMID – REBETEZ / VENDÉ 3-1 (11-9 11-7 7-11 11-7).

 

Women Singles semi-finals: Rachel MORET – Salomé SIMONET 4-2 (13-15 11-8 11-8 11-9 9-11 11-6) Rahe ASCHWANDEN – Céline REUST 4-3 (11-8 10-12 11-9 11-8 11-13 2-11 8-11). Women Singles final: Rachel MORET – Rahe ASCHWANDEN 4-2 (10-12 6-11 11-6 11-8 12-10 11-3).

 

Women Doubles semi-finals: MORET / ASCHWANDEN – ZUMBRUNNEN / KAUFMANN 3-0 (11-8 11-7 12-10) REUST / SIMONET – TCHALAKIAN / REBETEZ 3-1 (11:8 11:8 9:11 11:2). Women Doubles final: MORET / ASCHWANDEN – REUST / SIMONET 3-0 (11-2 11-8 12-10).

 

Mixed Doubles semi-finals: MORET / MOHLER – SIMONET / VENDÉ 3-0 (11-5 11-7 11-9) ASCHWANDEN / KARIN – TCHALAKIAN / TAFFÉ 3-0 (11-7 11-8 11-9). Mixed Doubles final: ASCHWANDEN / KARIN – MORET / MOHLER 3-2 (6-11 11-8 11-7 12-14 11-5).
