2023 European Under 21 Championships awarded to Sarajevo

European Table Tennis Union is pleased to announce that the 2023 European Under 21 Championships will be hosted by the Bosnia Herzegovina TT Federation in the capital city of Sarajevo BIH from Wednesday 5th to Sunday 9th April 2023.

“ETTU is happy to go to Sarajevo for the 2023 European Under 21 Championships. While we are constantly looking for new Member Associations to host our international events the bid we received from Table Tennis Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina is showing we have many active members ready to take on new challenges. The presentation from President Mr. Mirsad PAJEVIĆ was very impressive and made ETTU Executive Board decision really easy. I am sure we will have a great 2023 European Under 21 Championships in the city of Sarajevo ” stated ETTU Acting President Pedro MOURA.

Sarajevo had great experience in organising biggest events.

”It is a privilege to host this European event. This Championships will be organised as the part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the World Table Tennis Championships STENS 73 Sarajevo which was held in April 1973; in the environment of friendship cooperation and shared passion to table tennis. For BIH TTF it is so important to have a proactive approach and appropriate relationship and cooperation within ETTU family and ETTU bodies because organization and hosting the European events are the first decisive step on that course of action “ said BIH TTF President Mirsad PAJEVIC.

Moreover Sarajevo is well known as a city with the open heart to all visitors.

“I am fully sure that the 2023 European Under 21 Championships in incredibly colorful Sarajevo will meet all expectations and remain in the memories of all participants. I express my warm welcome to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sarajevo ” added PAJEVIC.
